Fire protection, rescue, and emergency medical response services are provided by the Hartland Deerfield Fire Authority (HDFA), from two stations located in Hartland Township: Station 61 (Main Station), 3205 Hartland Road , Station 62, 5965 Old U.S. 23

The HDFA is governed by a Board comprised of two representatives from Hartland Township, two representatives from Deerfield Township, and one "at large" member selected by both townships.  The two Hartland Township representatives are from the Township Board of Trustees:
