The Planning Department has recently completed a Residential Development Guidebook, which we hope will prove to be a valuable resource for homeowners, builders, and contractors with plans for an improvement on a residential property. The Guidebook is intended to provide information on the approval process for projects such as new home construction, additions, demolitions, detached structures (sheds, pole barns, detached garages), attached structures (decks, attached garage), fences, and pools. Our hope is that someone interested in starting a residential project can review the section of the guidebook applicable to their project online and on their own time, so that when they are ready to come to Township Hall to discuss the project, they already have a firm sense on what is required and what the procedures are.
The Residential Development Guidebook will continually be reviewed and updated to make it as useful a resource as possible. The Planning Department is always happy to answer any questions, and to take suggestions on how the Guidebook can be approved.
