Emergency Contact

For a sewer emergency, discontinue household water use and call the Livingston County Drain Commissioner's Office at (517) 546-0040.  Calls are monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, weekends and holidays.  Follow the voicemail prompt and system operators will respond to your message.

The Livingston Regional Sanitary Sewer System (Hartland and Tyrone Townships) is operated and maintained by the Livingston County Drain Commissioner's Office [link].  Hartland Township oversees operations through the Sewer Advisory Board to the Livingston County Board of Public Works [link].  As an enterprise fund, user fees are established by Hartland Township to fully account for the costs of providing these services.

Other Sewer Systems (Not operated by Hartland Township)

Within the Township there exist several community septic systems.  While many are privately owned and operated by the property owners, there are a few that are owned and operated by the Livingston County Drain Commissioner (LCDC).  The Lake Tyrone Sanitary Sewer System is one of those systems owned and operated by the LCDC.  The permit for this system expires in 2012.  The LCDC has been working with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) to renew the permit.

Sewer Rates
