Talking about the #1 issue for Hartland Township this Spring, happened to be the title of the February 11th Town Hall Meeting that I coordinated with Michigan Department of Transportation-(M-Dot) Officials. Residents who attended the Question and Answer session at the Township Hall, had the chance to ask questions about what to expect during the M-59-US-23 Bridge/Overpass Reconstruction Project. The program was taped and will run on Cable Channel 3, so that residents who missed the opportunity to attend in person, can still stay informed.
At the end of January, Don Hill, Doug Kuhn, Kathie Horning and I joined hundreds of Elected Township
Officials attending the 51st Annual Michigan Townships Educational Conference, in Lansing. Additionally, it was a first time for Hartland, when I proudly carried the Hartland Township Flag in the MTA parade of flags.

Dear Ann,

Q. Where do I find the latest information about Hartland Township Government?

A: Bookmark the Official Township Website address, which is: www.hartlandtwp.com
Browse around the various department pages and make sure to scroll down to the bottom of
each page so that you familiarize yourself with all of the information provided online, free.

Q: I heard that 3½ acres is going to be rezoned on the Waldenwoods property?

A: The parcel is currently zoned as PDMR-Planned Development Multiple Residential. The
request is to rezone the 3½ acres to PDGC Planned Development General Commercial.
If rezoned, PDGC the land could be used for retail stores, tentatively identified as a Target
Store and small retail shops. A picture of the Target store proposed for this site, is located
on the Official Hartland Township website, www.hartlandtwp.com.

Q: What is the status of Election Consolidation?

A. When the Election Consolidation Bill was signed into Law by the Governor, Clerk's across
Michigan automatically received the added responsibility of running all elections, including school millage or bond proposals. Beginning in January 2005, Michigan elections will now be held on just four days each year and will be run by Clerk's who are trained and experienced election professionals. With Consolidation, local elections will be more efficient and cost-effective by limiting the number of times voters will go to the polls each year.

Q: When will the Coffee and Chat with the Clerk video, air on Cable Channel 3?

A: Cable Channel 3 will be running the video, which was taped live during the Coffee and Chat
with Clerk Ann Ulrich. Be sure to look for your neighbors in the audience.
