I’m sure you have heard it said before, be careful
what you wish for because you just might get it. We all wished that M-Dot
would fix the traffic problems on M-59. Now, they are doing just that. I know,
the traffic now is a bigger mess, but it can only get better!
Dear Ann,
Q. Is it true that Hartland Township
will have a new Website address?
A: Yes, by using a new website
hosting company, I was able to save $300 a year. New Township Website address
will now be: www. hartlandtwp.com
Q: Can you give an update on the status
of Township Lawsuits?
A: Currently, the Township is
not involved in any lawsuits and the intention of this current Board, to keep
it that way.
1. Tom Parshall’s claim against the Township was
dismissed by the Court and he was ordered to pay $300 to Hartland Township
in sanctions. These sanctions, encouraged settlement talks with the case
finally being settled with IMC. The Township agreed to issue a check for
$330, without any admission of Township responsibility and the Township
taking ownership of the sign.
2. Edward White Contractor, sued Walden and Associates for Breach of Contract
for Earth Work performed at the Shops at Walden Woods, Hartland was also
named in the lawsuit. Our Attorney was eventually able to prove the Township
was not involved in their issue, and got the Township portion of the Lawsuit
dismissed.
Q: I returned my completed Survey, so
what difference did my comments make?
A. As a matter of fact, residents
told us how they felt and the Township Board responded.
Survey says:
1. You told us you wanted longer office hours… The
Township Hall is now open until 6:30
pm every Tuesday night. No additional costs for wages are required because
staff
hours were just adjusted to accommodate the hours for the longer work day.
2. You told us you wanted to watch Live Broadcasts of the Planning Commission
meetings….The Planning Commission Meetings began Broadcasting on Thursday,
September 11th, at 7pm on Channel 3.
3. You said you did not want taxes raised to pay for a new Park….so
the Parks & Recreation committee will be looking at Park Development
funding options thru State grants.
Look for the next Township Survey to be included in the December Tax Bills.
Q: Is there a publication that lists
the Local, County & State official’s phone numbers?
A: Yes, The 2003-04 Livingston
County Directory is published by the County Clerk’s office and is available
at the Hartland Township Hall. Stop in and ask me for your free copy.
