Hartland's Year in Review: 2019

Hartland Township

From better bond ratings to biking trails, an increase in permit applications to bringing projects to completion under budget, 2019 marked another memorable, meaningful year for Hartland Township and the township staff and leadership.

Some highlights include:

  • Being awarded Top Performing Entrepreneurial Community (and Four-Star Honored Community) by University of Michigan-Dearborn eCities program
  • Completing a Retail Market Analysis (Gibbs Planning), beginning implementation of new strategy & policy decisions
  • Promoting our “Business Friendly. Business Ready.” endeavors through multiple events, videos and posts
  • Launched new Township website, promoting professionalism, convenience & transparency
  • Received Township’s first Moody bond rating at Aa2 (third highest possible) 
  • Completed the third citizen survey for future strategic planning & policy decisions
  • Launched Hartland Living branded portal & community calendar through Partners in Progress (Cromaine District Library, Hartland Area Chamber of Commerce, and Hartland Consolidated Schools), with continued social media promotion & management 
  • Saved >$845K in interest for businesses proactively refunding M59/Hartland Road SAD bond
