Comprehensive Plan

The Comprehensive Plan serves as the guiding document for the community.  It provides an official statement of goals and policies that express a vision about the future of the community.  It serves as a decision making guide for the Planning Commission, the Township Board and other organizations when considering rezonings and other development requests, potential public improvements and other investments that affect the physical shape, appearance and functioning of the community.

The Michigan Planning Enabling Act, Act 33 of 2008, requires that at least every five years the Planning Commission is required to review the master plan and determine whether to amend the master plan or adopt a new master plan.

The Hartland Township Board and Planning Commission held a joint meeting on February 26, 2009 to discuss the existing goals and policies.  Prior to the approval of any changes to the master plan, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing with notice provided in the newspaper and on the Township's website.

Meeting Schedule

The Planning Commission meets twice monthly.  You can find the full schedule of meetings here. Agendas and minutes for these meetings are available.
