Water and Sewer Rate Adjustment Information
Hartland Township Water and Sewer Customers:
Following a rate study completed last year, the Livingston County Drain Commission—which owns and operates the public sanitary sewer system serving Hartland Township—has approved a modest increase in sewer rates, effective January 1, 2026.
In addition, after a rate study and thorough review of water utility operations and service costs, Hartland Township recently implemented an adjustment to water commodity rates, which took effect April 1, 2026. This adjustment helps ensure we can continue providing reliable service while planning for necessary system maintenance and future improvements. Notably, this is the first water rate adjustment in over four years.
We understand that any rate change can be impactful, and we remain committed to managing costs responsibly while maintaining the quality and reliability of our utility services for all residents.
