The Township accepts passport applications Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., except holidays and during elections.

Application Process

  • Visit Travel.State.Gov to access necessary information and find Passport Forms needed for obtaining your passport. You can also obtain these forms at the Hartland Township Hall as well. Do not sign the application until instructed to do so by the Acceptance Agent.
  • If requesting a first-time passport, you must file the application in person. Renewals must be done by mail. 
  • You must submit proof of U.S. citizenship and proof of identity, as provided on the application form.
  • You must submit a recent color photograph meeting the requirements described on the application form. Photographs are not taken at the Township Hall.
  • You must submit the standardized fees. We need 2 checks for payment. One for US Dept of State and the other for Hartland Township.
  • Passports are processed at Hartland Township Monday through Thursday from 830 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
